The measures aim to protect EU producers of multilayered wood flooring – an EU market worth €1.3 billion, and which employs 10,500 people in the EU – from unfair trading practices.
Multilayered wood flooring (also known as assembled or engineered parquet flooring) comprises several layers of wood veneer that are glued or bonded together. It is mainly used for indoor floors, in various locations including offices, shops, restaurants, hotels, museums and private residences.
Today’s anti-dumping duties were imposed following an investigation which showed that dumped imports of multilayered wood flooring from China were harming EU industry. The duties imposed today will help EU multilayered flooring makers to compete on a more equal footing with their Chinese counterparts.
